Karen O’Driscoll is a Senior Counsel with specialization in medical negligence. She was called to the Bar in 1990 and admitted to the Inner Bar in 2008. She graduated from University College Cork with a BCL (Hons) in 1988, she graduated with a Barrister-at- Law (Hons) degree from the Honourable Society of the Kings Inns in 1990 and with a masters in law (M.Litt) from Trinity College Dublin in 1996. She is also an accredited mediator and an arbitrator. Karen has served on the Tribunal since 2011.

Emma Cassidy LLB (QUB); Barrister-at-Law (King’s Inns) was called to the Bar of Ireland in July 2014 after which she commenced full-time practice. She has a specialised practice in Employment and Equality Law, holds an Advanced Diploma in Applied Employment Law from the Kings Inns and regularly represents Employers and Employees before the Workplace Commission and Labour Court. Prior to joining the Law Library, Emma worked for a number of years in the litigation department of a Dublin law firm as well as for a semi-state organisation. She has served on the Tribunal since 2021.

Claire Cummins BL BA (UCD); LL.M Commercial (UCD); Practising Barrister-at-Law, was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2012. She has a mixed civil practice, and specialises in the areas of Personal Injury, Administrative Law/Judicial Review, Data Protection Law and Banking Law. In addition to her private practice, she lectures part-time in the Law Society of Ireland. Claire has served on the Tribunal since 2021 and has served as a Tribunal Chairperson with the Mental Health Commission since 2022.

John Healy SC has practised in the Four Courts since 1999. He has considerable experience in the fields of civil litigation, medical law, constitutional law, and judicial review. He is also the author of several authoritative legal books, including Medical Malpractice Law (Thomson Roundhall, Brehon Library, 2008) and Irish Laws of Evidence (Roundhall, 2004). He has been a member of the Tribunal since 21st September 2012.

Romaine Scally qualified in the Michaelmas term of 1980 and has been the principal in the firm of Romaine Scally & Company Solicitors, Main Street, Tallaght since 1998. She qualified from UCD with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and English in 1976 and was entered into the role of Solicitors in the Law Society of Ireland in 1980. She was previously the secretary of the Tallaght Solicitors Bar Association from 2007 to 2012. She has been an Ordinary Member of the Hepatitis C and HIV Tribunal since 2014.
